Spencer joined Heatons in 2004 and is responsible for the overall management of the practice as well as being fully involved in casework on behalf of a variety of clients. Since becoming managing director, Spencer has been responsible for developing Heatons into a multi-disciplinary practice through establishing teams in landscape and ecology.

Being a planning consultant with over 20 years’ experience, Spencer provides advice on a daily basis to clients on all matters relating to the planning system, be it general planning matters, legal updates, change of use and permitted development rights. Spencer is experienced with appeal work including a number of hearings and public inquiry and has appeared at numerous examinations to Local Plans.

Prior to joining Heatons, Spencer was employed in private consultancy and worked for Leicestershire and then Nottinghamshire County Council.
