Our team work with residential developments including minor extensions, new build dwellings, infill plots, conversions, development in the Green Belt, high performing sustainable homes and significant housing/mixed use developments.

We recommend initial assessments be carried out prior to any detailed design work to ensure that crucial housing Development Plan policy tests can be met, ultimately saving time and expense in the long run. Careful consideration is given to development in sensitive areas like Green Belt and Conservation Areas where strong planning arguments are needed to obtain permission.

Once we establish the guiding principles on how a housing development may be delivered we assist in preparing and submitting planning applications for housing development.  We have vast experience of project management throughout the process from concept stage through to submission and determination. We also have experience of the appeals process and what is required to prepare evidence to win a planning appeal.

We act on behalf of clients to engage with local authorities through making representations to Policy documents as they emerge. Heatons have made clients voices heard through the allocation of land in planning policy to promote our clients interests.
